The African Democratic Congress, ADC, is gradually gaining grounds in Imo State, as the State chapter received the Arewa Unite for Peace Foundation members who came to assure them of their unalloyed support to the mandate of the party.

“We have registered members of about 5628 here in Imo State. At both the Federal and State level, we have contributed a lot to the progress of the country, and are still doing so.
“This time around, we have decided to choose a way to ensure the people get the dividend of democracy, which is why we have decided to identify with ADC which we believe have come to change the narratives for good.
“We are 100 percent with the party, and solidly behind its leadership in actualizing the missions and visions of the party,’Ahmad assured’.

In response, the State Chairman of Party, Prof. James Okoroma, welcomed the group, saying that they have taken the right step in the right direction.

He pointed out, “the mandate of ADC, is for there to be a new Nigeria, where every State is carried along in the administration of the country. We are tired of a Nigeria where one tribe is majorly in charge of running the affairs of the country, and wrongly deciding the faith of many Nigerians.
“Nobody is happy with what is happening in Nigeria today, the insecurity challenge is on the rise as people now travel far distances with fear of the unknown. There is serious hardship in the country and the citizens are not safe too as they can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed because no one knows what will happen next.
“There is also no unity among the diverse tribes in the country, especially because of the insecurity that has left many asking – who are the real perpetrators of the act?
“This was not so under past administrations, and so we are here to end such stories, bring the desired change needed, and make sure all the tribes are reunited to become one once again,’ Okoroma averred.
He assured the leadership of the foundation of working hand in gloves with them, and the party also looking into their request of aiding them get PVCs.
The Chairman in the same vein wished them a happy Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief MacDonald Amadi, and one of the leaders in the party Comrade Chinedu Mbah, among others, also welcomed the group reiterating that they have made the right decision of joining the party, as they are not leaving any stone unturned in achieving its aspirations of a new Nigeria.
