The Presidency has accused former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of being displeased whenever Nigeria records major achievements.
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, made the remark while reacting to comments attributed to Obi regarding fuel subsidy removal and state police.
In a post on X, Bwala questioned Obi’s stance on key national policies, claiming that the former Anambra State governor had changed positions on issues he once championed.
According to Bwala, Obi had previously supported the removal of fuel subsidy, the creation of state police, and the unification of the foreign exchange market, but now appears to oppose those same policies after the Tinubu administration implemented them.
“I don’t know why every time Nigeria makes progress, it angers Peter Obi,” Bwala wrote, adding that Obi’s recent comments suggest a lack of clarity about his vision for the country.
The presidential aide argued that the reforms currently being implemented by the Federal Government align with proposals Obi advocated before the 2023 presidential election, raising questions about his current opposition to them.
