2027: APC Fires Warning Shot At Opposition, Saying…

The battle for the 2027 elections appears to be heating up, with a top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulmumin Jibrin, issuing a strong warning to opposition parties ahead of the polls.

Jibrin, who represents Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, declared that the APC would not surrender any elective position in Kano State to its political rivals.

Speaking at a special meeting with APC leaders and polling-unit representatives from Kiru and Bebeji Local Government Areas in Kofa, Jibrin expressed confidence that the ruling party would retain the presidency and secure victory across Kano.

The lawmaker urged party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation, insisting that the APC possesses the political structure and support needed to dominate the forthcoming elections.

In a bold declaration, Jibrin said:

«“I swear to God, in Kano, come 2027 general elections, we are not going to surrender a single seat for them. I repeat, APC will not surrender a single seat for opposition parties.”»

He added:

«“They will know our worth, and I am assuring that this coming election we will teach them the lesson of their lives.”»

Jibrin, however, acknowledged that the APC had previously faced internal disagreements but maintained that efforts were underway to resolve the challenges and strengthen the party ahead of 2027.

He pointed to the involvement of prominent APC figures, including President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo, former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin, former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Senator Kawu Sumaila and Senator Rufai Hanga.

According to him, the presence of these political heavyweights, alongside National and State Assembly candidates, has further strengthened the APC’s preparations.

With the 2027 elections drawing closer, Jibrin’s declaration signals that the political battle for Kano could be heading for an intense showdown between the APC and opposition forces.
