2027: N50m, N200m And Cars? Galadima Makes Explosive Claim About APC Lawmakers

A fresh political controversy has erupted ahead of the 2027 general elections following allegations by a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is offering huge financial incentives and vehicles to some legislative candidates.

Galadima made the allegations on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, claiming that some politicians were being persuaded to withdraw from the race and make way for APC candidates.

According to him, candidates for state Houses of Assembly seats who agree to surrender their tickets are allegedly being offered N50 million, while those contesting for the House of Representatives are allegedly being offered N200 million and a car.

“We are only 100 days away from the general elections. Like every politician, except those in power, we are watching their backs because, as I speak to you, I don’t think there is any candidate outside the APC who is sure of contesting this election,” Galadima said.

He further alleged that a woman from Zamfara State was coordinating the alleged distribution of the money at a hotel in Abuja.

“There’s a lady from Zamfara State who is sharing the money in a hotel here in Abuja,” he alleged.

Galadima also claimed that the woman recently met with APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and presented the names of candidates who had allegedly withdrawn from the contest.

“In fact, she just held a meeting about four days ago with the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, showing some candidates who have forfeited their right to contest the election. They wrote resignation letters and collected the money,” he alleged.

The NDC chieftain further claimed that President Bola Tinubu and APC governors were apprehensive about facing strong opposition at the polls and were allegedly seeking to secure victories without serious contests.

The allegations have added a new layer of tension to the unfolding political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 elections.

The claims remain allegations by Galadima, and no independent evidence was provided in the report to substantiate them.
