Imo State House of Assembly at its plenary on Thursday received a petition from Concern Citizens/ Stakeholders of Ndegwu Community in Owerri West Local Government Area, titled Removal of the Eze – Elect from office.
The petition which was presented on the floor of the House by the member for Ngor Okpala Constituency Dr. Obinna Egu, was signed by a former President – General of Ndegwu Community Mr. Boniface Ukpe and other members of the community, particularly from the Umunaekperedu village.
The Ngor Okpala Constituency Lawmaker, Dr. Egu had informed the House that a group of concerned citizens and stakeholders from Ndegwu Community submitted the petition urging the State Government to stop Nze Nicholas Ojinnaka from parading himself as the Eze-elect.
The Speaker, Mr. Chike Olemgbe refered the petition to the House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Areas, Chieftaincy Affairs and Autonomous Communities to turn in its report on Tuesday December 24, 2024.
The petition calls immediate intervention of the Imo State House of Assembly to address the concerns raised regarding Ojinaka’s election as Eze-elect of Ndegwu Community.
