Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has resumed her duties at the National Assembly.
this took place on Tuesday, following the lifting of her suspension and the reopening of her office.
The Kogi Central lawmaker, however, maintained a defiant stance, describing Senate President Godswill Akpabio as a “dictator” and averring that she owed no apology over the six-month standoff triggered by her protest against a seat reassignment in February.
It would be recalled that her suspension was recently nullified by a Federal High Court, which ruled that the action was excessive and unconstitutional.
Meanwhile, the Senate had extended its recess by again shifting its resumption of plenary from September 23 to October 7.
Although no official reason was given, insiders attributed the delay to preparations for Independence Day celebrations.
National Beam gathered that the latest postponement has left legislative debates and oversight activities on hold, raising uncertainty over whether Akpoti-Uduaghan will immediately participate in plenary when sessions resume.
