Imo Guber 2027: Is Prince Bob Njemanze Entitled To His Opinion?

By Chinedu Max Egere

The texts extracted from the Wiktionary available under CCBY -SA.30  licence clearly indicates that an ‘opinion is a belief, judgment or perspective that a person has formed, either through objective or subjective reasoning about a topic, issue, person or thing’ and that it is ‘the judgement or sentiment which the mind forms of persons, things or issues’.
Going by its contextual meanings, opinions are the views of a person or a group or groups on a topic or an issue or on a person.

On this ground, the Imo 2027 governorship seat is a topic and an issue that must attract diverse opinions from individuals or groups and in their different perspectives they must differ from beliefs and judgments.

This question of whether  Prince Bob Njemanze is not entitled to his opinions or not,had arisen before now when he boldly made his opinion on the charter of equity. It is not new.

Supplementary to the foregoing, the revered elder statesman and a public affairs analyst,Prince Bob Njemanze like those raising issues over his opinions is entitled to his or does he not?

One therefore wonders where this person who confusedly introduced himself as Okechukwu Ajoku and who also might have disguised himself as writing from Egbu axis using an Imo based newspaper to pour vituperation.

While the aid of a mountain is not required to break a walnut, it does not also require investigations to be convinced that the writer is a poseur whose mission is obviously dead on arrival.A pseudo name might have been adopted by the hidden coward so as to be abusive.Too childish.

It would always be pertinent  for people to learn to form their opinions on issues like charter of equity and Imo 2027 governorship seat and not to cheaply resort to nauseating innuendos that are aimed at insulting the opinions of others.Must we all think alike?

Consistently,Prince Bob Njemanze has laid down his independent permutations on the issue of Imo 2027 governorship seat.He has not disguised himself. He has never used a pseudo name.He has never nursed ill-feelings in the course of saying his mind.He has never misled the public over where he is either writing or speaking from.He has never been a double speak. He boldly expresses himself through the electronic, print and online media and his opinions are made explicit. Recently, he was on both Channels and Arise Television stations to express himself on issues of public interest.

The question of being an elder statesman is not awarded and if the fiery Prince believes that his kinsmen, the people of Owerri geo-political zone should work in alliance with the people of Okigwe zone in other to gain an easier access to have their son occupy the Douglas house, that should be respectfully left as his opinion of which he is entitled to.

More so,if Prince Bob Njemanze loudly thinks that it would be advisable for the people of Owerri zone to allow Okigwe zone take the 2027 governorship slot by way of supporting Chief Ikedi Ohakim,a former governor who by the provisions of the constitution will, if elected, do only one term,is that not his opinion too?

If the prince of the Njemanze royal dynasty of Owerri raises doubts and suspicion that a failure of rappour and compromise between the Owerri and Okigwe zones could spill a disaster that could give any desperate Orlu person a chance to try a luck, will that call for uproar or abuses?

Owerri Zone Progressives Forum(OZOPROF) has in a public notice aligned with Prince Bob Njemanze on his reasoning of Owerri zone having a mutual understanding with their Okigwe brothers ahead 2027. A one off sacrifice that he feels would realize a target for his kinsmen.

Ndaa Bob is well known for his straight talks and it becomes appropriate that instead of being worried about his expressed thoughts and opinions, forming more superior opinions on the same issue would be better than the style of hide and seek game to insult  opinion.

A question as to why the harmless opinions of this elder statesman be a tantamount to the ramping up of the topic or winding down of it has come up again.

It should be recalled that he had earlier made a statement on Imo charter of equity as not being embodied in the constitution and that as such it remains transient with his caution to Owerri zone on the risk attached to a total reliance on a mere promise.

Prince Bob Njemanze respects an Igbo adage that says that ‘an old man does not stay put watching a goat being trapped in rope’
A delight in insulting people’s opinions by others by way of acting the epiphytes smirks of envy and not acceptable as it aims at constituting a set back to progress.Money and power do not have their ways in influencing the opinions of Prince Bob Njemanze given his antecedents and not sharing his views does not mean anything to him as he believes that’ When people decide to misunderstand me in my candid thoughts and opinions,so be it”. Prince Bob Njemanze is entitled to his opinions.Period.
