Adelabu Family Breaks Silence After Dramatic Rescue of Sister, Twin Sons

The family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed gratitude following the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, describing the operation as a testament to the power of unity in combating insecurity.
Mrs. John-Paul and her children were recently abducted by kidnappers before security operatives secured their freedom in a coordinated rescue operation.
In a statement issued through Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the family thanked God, security agencies, government officials, and Nigerians whose support contributed to the victims’ safe return.
“We are delighted to announce that the victims have been rescued safely and are in good condition,” the statement said.
According to the family, the successful operation highlights the importance of collective action, commitment, and cooperation in addressing the country’s security challenges.
The family commended President Bola Tinubu for his concern and dedication to the safety and welfare of Nigerians. It also appreciated Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for his support throughout the ordeal.
Special recognition was given to the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, the Oyo State Police Command, and the state Commissioner of Police for their efforts in securing the victims’ release.
The Department of State Services (DSS) was also praised for its role in the operation. The family noted that intelligence-driven efforts by DSS personnel at both the national headquarters in Abuja and the Oyo State Directorate played a crucial role in the rescue mission.
Calling for stronger national cooperation against insecurity, the family stressed that criminality affects all Nigerians regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, religion, or social status.
“This experience has once again demonstrated that insecurity is a challenge that transcends partisan politics, ethnic affiliations, religious differences and social status. It requires collective vigilance, cooperation and collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community stakeholders and citizens,” the statement read.
While celebrating the rescue, the family also remembered other kidnapping victims still being held captive across the country.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with other victims of kidnapping and their families who are still enduring the pain and uncertainty of captivity,” the statement added.
The family urged Nigerians to remain united in the fight against crime and continue supporting lawful efforts aimed at protecting lives and property nationwide.
