Prophecy Sparks Fear: Primate Ayodele Warns of Looming Threat on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has raised fresh concerns over security on one of Nigeria’s busiest highways, warning that bandits may attempt to block the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the coming weeks.
Speaking during a Sunday service at the church’s headquarters, Ayodele said he foresaw a potential security threat on the road between July and August and urged security agencies to take proactive measures.
“Ibadan. Lagos-Ibadan Express Road. July/August, I do not know the precise time. Bandits will block the road. Lagos-Ibadan Express Road. They will block the road. So the security agencies should note this,” the cleric declared.
The warning has drawn attention because the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway serves as a major transport corridor linking Lagos to several South-West states and northern Nigeria.
As of the time of this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Federal Government had issued any official security alert regarding the prediction.
Ayodele’s latest warning comes amid growing concerns over insecurity following recent attacks by suspected bandits, including the abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers during coordinated raids on schools in Oyo State.
The cleric had also recently criticised the Federal Government over the nation’s security challenges, accusing authorities of not doing enough to protect citizens.
