ABIA — Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has made a bold declaration about her political ambition, insisting that she will become the next governor of the state.
Ogala made the statement during an appearance on the Clarity Zone podcast hosted by media personality Nedu Wazobia.
The actress said her decision to contest the governorship was inspired by what she described as a divine mandate to serve and “save” the people of Abia.
Expressing confidence in her chances, Ogala claimed she is better prepared than other potential contenders and insisted that nothing would stop her from achieving her ambition.
“I am so sure, and I know it, because I’m better than all of them. My call to come and save my people is a divine mandate. I will be the next governor of Abia State. Nothing is going to stop it,” she said.
Ogala also took aim at the administration of incumbent Governor Alex Otti, alleging that the government had not done enough for the people.
She recounted spending three months at her family home in Abia and alleged that she lived without electricity during that period.
“I have been in Abia for three good months. No lights. I sleep in my family house. I don’t have lights. I can tell you that this present government has done nothing,” she stated.
The AAC candidate went further, challenging Governor Otti to dispute her claims and questioning his role in the development of Ariaria International Market.
“I dare the governor, Alex Otti, to challenge me. He didn’t build Ariaria,” Ogala declared.
Her comments are expected to generate further reactions as political activities intensify ahead of the Abia governorship contest.
