Charles Orie May Be Dragged To Court Over Impersonation… I don’t know him, he has seven days to retract publication – Ezenwa

PUBLIC DISCLAIMER AND DEMAND FOR RETRACTION

My name is Nze Dr. Modestus Vitus Ezenwa (Duru Ugwo Ejinna Umuezedike, Akwaa Akwuru Umuobom, Oderiri Ntueke, Onyirimba Ihitenansa).

It has come to my attention that Mr. Charles Orie, who purports to be aspiring for the governorship position of Imo State in 2027, and his associates have resorted to deliberate falsehood and misrepresentation.

On Monday, October20,2025, I was utterly shocked to read on several local tabloids and online platforms across the state an article titled “WHY THE NEXT IMO GOVERNOR SHOULD COME FROM AN OIL-PRODUCING COMMUNITY”, which was falsely credited to me as the author.

I wish to state unequivocally, categorically, and in the clearest possible terms that I, Nze Dr. Modestus Vitus Ezenwa (Duru Ugwo Ejinna Umuezedike, Akwaa Akwuru Umuobom, Oderiri Ntueke, Onyirimba Ihitenansa), that I am not the author of that article. I neither wrote it, authorized it, nor granted anyone permission to use my name for any publication of that nature.

I do not know Mr. Charles Orie personally and have never been a beneficiary of any so-called educational investment or assistance from him.

For the avoidance of doubt,  I am presently a dedicated stakeholder in Imo politics and remain committed to supporting His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma,CON, GSSRS, Governor of Imo State, to finish admirably as Governor.

By using my name without my knowledge or consent, Mr. Orie and his team have caused me immense reputational damage, particularly on my stance on good governance on Imo, which Mr.  Orie does not in no way or manner represent.

Therefore, I demand an immediate retraction and public apology from Mr. Charles Orie and his team on all the platforms where this unauthorized article was published. The apology must acknowledge the false attribution and the injury caused to my reputation.

Failure to comply with this demand within seven (7) days from the date of this publication will leave me with no choice but to take appropriate legal action to protect my name, reputation, and right not to be misrepresented or associated with any publication without my consent.
