Health Storm Rocks White House as Trump Faces Alarming Claims About Mental Decline

Speculation over President Donald Trump’s health is intensifying in the United States, as new expert comments fuel fears about his physical and mental condition — and even raise fresh impeachment questions.
Psychologist Dr. John Gartner has claimed the 79-year-old president is becoming increasingly “paranoid” about what he described as signs of mental decline. Speaking on the Daily Beast podcast with host Joanna Coles, Gartner referenced a recent Wall Street Journal report that revealed Trump now wears compression socks to manage swollen ankles.
During a phone interview, Trump reportedly complained that people were discussing his health “for the 25th time,” before insisting that his condition was “perfect.”
But Gartner said the repeated focus is linked to growing public talk about invoking the 25th Amendment — the constitutional process used when a president is deemed unfit to govern.
“We’re talking about it because people keep saying it’s 25th Amendment time,” Gartner explained, suggesting the president feels threatened by concerns over his ability to lead.
The psychologist added that Trump is deeply sensitive about stories involving his health, claiming they provoke his anger because they challenge his authority. According to Gartner, Trump projects strength publicly while privately fearing loss of power.
“As people begin to deteriorate, paranoia often increases,” he said. “It becomes more primitive — the feeling that others are out to threaten you.”
Gartner further alleged that Trump may be showing signs of frontotemporal dementia, a condition that affects the frontal lobes of the brain and can cause disinhibition, impulsive behaviour, and personality changes.
Meanwhile, attention has also turned to Trump’s lifestyle. US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr recently spoke about the president’s diet on The Katie Miller Podcast, revealing that Trump frequently consumes fast food, candy and large amounts of Diet Coke.
“The interesting thing about the president is that he eats really bad food — McDonald’s, candy and Diet Coke,” Kennedy said. “He drinks Diet Coke all the time. I don’t know how he’s alive, but he is.”
Despite the criticism, Kennedy insisted Trump remains in “incredible” shape, adding that the president’s doctor once described his testosterone level as unusually high for someone over 70.
Trump has consistently rejected concerns about his wellbeing, maintaining that he is in perfect health and has “aced” multiple cognitive tests.
However, as scrutiny deepens, debates over the president’s fitness for office appear far from over.
