The South East Zonal Executive Council (ZEC) of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has applauded the Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku led South East leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for organizing a homecoming in honour of former National President of NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo.
They made the commendation in a Communique signed by the Zonal Secretary, Zone C (South East), Doris Chioma Alex, after the association had a meeting on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.
Part of the communique reads:
“The South East Zonal Executive Council (ZEC) of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) held its statutory meeting on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.
“At the end of extensive deliberations on issues affecting the association, the media industry, and the region at large, the following resolutions were adopted:
“The South East Zonal Executive Council commended the South East leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for organizing a memorable homecoming in honour of Chief Chris Isiguzo, former National President of the NUJ.
“The event was seen as a symbol of unity and recognition of outstanding service”.
NAWOJ, an affiliate body to the NUJ and umbrella platform for female journalists is led by Comrade Amaka Agbo as the South East zonal Vice Chairperson.
