OWERRI – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday, paid a one-day working visit to Imo State where he commissioned key infrastructure projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a new book chronicling ten years of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in power.
The projects include the reconstructed Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre (EIICC) in Owerri, where the event was held, alongside other completed works across the state.
President Tinubu, while addressing a large crowd of residents and dignitaries, hailed Uzodimma’s vision and dedication to governance, describing him as “a man of progressive ideas and action.”
“I commend my dear brother, Governor Hope Uzodimma. Good job, good thinking, highly progressive, a man of vision—well done,” Tinubu said.
“Authoring a book to document ten years of APC governance is a rare gift to the nation. Nigeria will not forget this milestone.”
The president also reassured Nigerians of his government’s commitment to economic recovery, declaring that “the worst time is over.”
Governor Uzodimma, who doubles as Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and the South East Governors Forum, presented his book titled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria,” which details the APC’s journey in government from 2015 to 2025.
“This book is a product of reflection, careful research and honest writing,” Uzodimma explained. “It captures our milestones, challenges, and the lessons of the past decade.”
The event drew prominent personalities, including the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, who praised Uzodimma’s ability to combine governance with scholarship.
“By documenting history, you have rendered a great service to Nigeria,” the monarch noted.
Also speaking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio applauded Uzodimma’s effort, stressing that his achievements extend beyond infrastructure to intellectual contribution.
Local traditional rulers, including Eze Joseph Kelechi Ike, the Obi of Ugiri, equally lauded the governor, describing him as “a go-getter and achiever whose efforts are widely appreciated by Imo people.”
President Tinubu rounded off by thanking the people of Imo for their warm reception and urged continued support for his administration’s reforms
