2027: PRP Chairman Drops Bombshell, Predicts Tinubu’s Defeat Before 4pm

The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has made a bold prediction about the outcome of the 2027 presidential election.

Baba-Ahmed said President Bola Tinubu would lose the election before 4 p.m. if the poll is conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.

Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, the PRP chairman also described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a “monster eating itself up.”

According to him, the APC’s control of the National Assembly and its backing from 31 state governors have not prevented Tinubu from feeling politically uncomfortable.

Baba-Ahmed cited the recent Osun State governorship election, where Governor Ademola Adeleke emerged victorious, as evidence that the APC can be defeated despite its political strength.

He said the APC was “trounced” in Osun without the opposition needing to form a broad coalition against the ruling party.

“There’s no reason why this cannot repeat itself at a national level,” he said.

The PRP chairman further questioned why Tinubu would remain uneasy despite allegedly having the support of a large majority of governors and lawmakers.

“You have a president who believes he must have all the power around him,” Baba-Ahmed said, describing the situation as “politically monstrous.”

He then delivered his strongest prediction on the 2027 presidential election.

“If it’s a credible, free and fair election, I assure you, Tinubu will lose. I won’t say before 12 noon. Maybe before 4 pm.”»

Baba-Ahmed also warned against prematurely praising the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying the commission must first demonstrate that it can conduct a credible election in which the sitting president is a contestant.

He expressed hope that the 2027 election would be free and fair, warning that any failure to achieve this could pose a serious threat to Nigeria’s democracy.
