On Monday, July,29,2024, history was made as the people of Ubomiri Ancient Kingdom in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state unanimously endorsed the aspiration of one of their illustrious sons, Chief Augustine Okwara as consensus aspirant for the Seat of Mbaitoli’s Executive Chairman in the awaited Local Government Council Chairmanship Election.
In his core values, Chief Augustine Okwara made sure that both his mission and vision are attainable, and that is why he has religiously put in stringent measures wrapped in his core values such as; quality, integrity and passion.
For the people of Ubomiri nation to harness these potentials to the fullest for their own good,they have to come together and commission Chief Augustine Okwara to go and contest the election with all maximum support and solidarity from all and sundry in the three (3) Autonomous Communities that make up Ubomiri Ward.This is indeed,a most welcome development, hence, the people of Mbaitoli-South geo-political bloc are absolutely in support of Chief Okwara’s aspiration ahead of the APC’s primary election for the Local Government Council Chairmanship Election proper.
In one of my recent discussions with Chief Augustine Okwara, he said” Mbaitoli is the most populous LGA in Imo state and second in Nigeria.Days are gone when Mbaitoli people will regrettably found themselves in an epileptic, passive and non result-oriented grassroot governance.Mbaitoli is highly endowed with very great and prominent men and women who can no longer continue to nurse regrets and grudges over maladministration”.
He further stated that he will ensure that Mbaitoli is collectively steered by pragmatic leaders,seasoned traditional rulers, visionary councilors,ward executives and experienced village heads/leaders.This according to him, will ensure holistic carriage of his policy towards an efficient and comprehensive grassroot governance.
In a brief assessment of his score-card so far,it is imperative for people of Mbaitoli LGA to know that this APC Chairmanship Aspirant did great to the benefit of Mbaitoli people when he was in service with the Federal Ministry of Health representing the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri.
His achievements include:
1.He influenced the admissions of 92 Mbaitoli youths into the School of Nursing, Midwifery/Health Technology.
The beneficiary Communities are: Orodo,Ogwa, Ubomiri,Afara, Ogbaku, Ifakala, Mbieri, and Eziama-Obiato.
2.influenced the employment of many Mbaitoli indigenes in different sectors of the economy.The evidences of all these are right with us.
3.Attracted the building of an ultra modern Health Centre in Ubomiri with Doctors and Nurses’ Quarters inclusive.
4.Influenced the contribution of Doctors’Quarters, Nurses’Quarters, Emergency Obstetric Centre at the Nwaorieubi Health Centre.
5.Influenced the construction of a functional Borehole at Nwaorieubi Health Centre.
6.Influenced the construction of an industrial solar Borehole to the people of Umuabali-Ubomiri through the MPP6 European Union.
7.Built and handed over three (3) and two (2) bedroom flats to some Mbaitoli indigent indegenes.They are all there present.
8.Attracted the allocation of a functional Health Ambulance-vehicle to the Nwaorieubi Health Centre for all medical emergencies.
9.Takes care of all the indigent widows in his Community.Evidences are there to confirm.
Remember that qualitative grassroot governance brings about qualitative dividends of democracy to the grassroot people.
