Nwakanma Receives Senior Advocate Award On Lands In Imo

The Senior Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Land Recovery, Hon. Paschal Nwakanma ( Dum-Dum), has received an Excellent Award as ‘ Senior Advocate On Lands (SAL), saying, “Imo State must be free from land grabbers and land racketeering”.

Nwakanma stated this recently when he received in his office, members of Journalists For Justice And Good Governance who bestowed the award on him.

Speaking, he stated that the Shared Prosperity government is committed to correcting mistakes created by past administrations in the area of land.

Nwakanma noted that a lot of things has gone wrong regarding land issues, adding that the present government has refused to follow the ugly trend but, is very sincere to ensure that the right things are done for the betterment of Imo people.

According to him,” people who holistically bought a form from the Imo State government who are sure they paid directly into the government state account, very soon we will open up slot for them to come forth for land allocation.

“But mind you, not everybody that bought form will get land, some will not but the truth of the matter is we will give the land to people who merited it.

“Shared Prosperity government is giving land not selling like past administrations, so when you want to talk about land allocation we are giving it for free to people that merits it, that’s what we mean by government allocation, not for you to come and buy”. He stated.

Nwakanma revealed that Governor Hope Uzodimma is not interested in lands that belong to Imo State.

Saying that he’s not a party to land grabbing, he pointed out that the governor is a man who has one property all this while as a governor.

He reiterated that the Shared Prosperity government will always do its best to make sure the public is happy, hinting that the era of people grabbing Imolites land or government land and running away, is gone.

The SA maintained that they can’t allow it, saying that every land meant for the government remains for the government no matter how many years it has been there.

He reaffirmed that by the grace of God and with the wisdom, and ideas given to him by the governor to run along with this portfolio, that land issue is stepped down to zero in Imo State.

Nwakanma further revealed that very soon the people will smile when it comes to land issue, as there will not be space for anybody to grab lands or to racketeer individuals lands by making fake papers to begin selling lands that does not belong to them.

He also commended Journalists For Justice And Good Governance leadership for finding him worthy to be honored as ‘Senior Advocate On Lands ( SAL), and expressed happiness for identifying with him having seen the good work of the 3R administration in the state.

The SA urged them to always ensure they balance their news stories as professionals, and charged journalists to inform Imolites, others who has interest in investing in Imo State in the area of land development to do so, even as he partner with the media.

Earlier, Comr. Reuben Nwankwo, who led the team while presenting the prestigious award to Hon. Paschal Nwakanma described Journalists For Justice And Good Governance as group of investigative journalists who monitors the activities of government appointees in discharging their duties.

He noted that they have seen his good of cutting down land racketeering and grabbing in the state, since he assumed office.

According to him, ” we took time to study your achievement and we are satisfied with what you are doing, you equally recovered landed properties forcefully taken away from its owners, and was able to settled land dispute in so many communities.

“Imo people are happy with your job, that’s why we have come to say keep up the good work”. He stated.

Meanwhile, the visit also witnessed the presentation of the Excellence award to Hon. Paschal Nwakanma (Dum-Dum) for distinguishing himself as ‘ Senior Advocate On Lands ‘ (SAL) and also in recognition of his philanthropic spirit and exemplary leadership.
