Comrade Prince Chidi Ogwuegbu has been conferred with the prestigious title of Justice of the Peace (JP), promising to carry out his duties with dedication, integrity and an unwavering commitment to peace.

The conferment ceremony, held at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, saw 74 inductees officially inaugurated by the Imo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Paul Obinatu.

Speaking after receiving his certificate, Prince Ogwuegbu expressed joy over the honour, describing it as “a right step in the right direction.” He praised the Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for giving him the opportunity to serve.

“My kudos goes to the Governor of Imo State for finding me worthy to be a Justice of the Peace,” he said.

Recounting the process of his selection, he explained that he purchased the application form from the Ministry of Justice and went through all required procedures, including DSS screening and community background checks, before being chosen.

According to him, the JP role demands integrity, impartiality and a strong commitment to community harmony.

“It boils down to integrity—making sure you maintain peace in the community and help resolve conflicts,” he noted.

Prince Ogwuegbu, who is a civil servant, Deputy Director, and Head of Personnel Management (HPM) in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, emphasized that peace at the community level positively influences peace across the state and the country.
