Fresh fears over insecurity gripped Oyo State on Wednesday after armed kidnappers abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant, Bayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons in Ibadan.
The victims, identified as 43-year-old Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin boys, Peter and Paul, were reportedly seized by gunmen in the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan.

According to family sources, the mother was on her way to drop her children at school when the attackers intercepted her vehicle at gunpoint. She was forced to abandon her Kia Sonata before she and her children were bundled into another vehicle and driven away.
Eyewitnesses said the kidnappers fired several shots into the air to scare residents and motorists before fleeing the scene with their captives.
The incident comes barely three weeks after the abduction of 47 pupils, students, and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, raising fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in Oyo State.
Confirming the development, Adelabu’s family, through his media aide, Femi Awogboro, said security agencies have been alerted and investigations are already underway. Efforts are also ongoing to secure the safe release of the victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
