Dachomo In Israel: What Plateau Cleric Plans To Tell Netanyahu About Nigeria’s Insecurity

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, has arrived in Israel as part of an international campaign over killings and insecurity in Plateau and other parts of Nigeria.

Dachomo arrived in Israel on Friday, October 2, 2026, with plans to draw international attention to what he described as the persecution and killing of Christians in Plateau and the wider Middle Belt.

The cleric is expected to seek an audience with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where he intends to present his concerns about the security situation in Nigeria.

He is also scheduled to participate in meetings and prayer activities involving Christian groups and prayer warriors from different countries.

Dachomo’s visit comes days after he publicly thanked Netanyahu and United States President Donald Trump for drawing international attention to religious violence and the situation of Christians in Nigeria.

The Plateau cleric has become a prominent voice on attacks affecting communities in the state. He has repeatedly attended burial ceremonies for victims and used such occasions to call for greater international attention to the violence.

According to details shared by Dachomo on social media, the trip marks his first international Christian advocacy tour.

He said the journey was necessary to ensure that the situation in Plateau and Nigeria receives attention beyond the country.

Dachomo also said he would use the opportunity to pray for Nigerians affected by violence, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

“By the mercy of God, I will be addressing the world in Israel,” the cleric announced.

He said he expected to meet preachers and Christian prayer groups from America, China and other parts of the world.

Dachomo said he planned to speak about the killings of Muslims and Christians in different parts of Nigeria, the situation of his fellow Biafrans and the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu.

He also said he intended to tell Netanyahu about the killing of people in his community and draw attention to what he described as the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The cleric further criticised the Nigerian government over what he described as its failure to adequately highlight attacks against Christians while addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

His comments come amid continuing international attention to insecurity in Plateau State.

In July, the United States condemned the reported killing of nine members of Dachomo’s extended family in Kum community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. A two-month-old baby was among those reported killed.

Dachomo later disclosed that he had received threats and linked the attacks to his outspoken position on insecurity in the state.

Earlier in 2026, he also revealed that he had received asylum offers from countries including Australia and Austria but said he had chosen to remain in Nigeria and continue speaking about the situation of affected communities.

It remains unclear whether Dachomo will secure a private meeting with Netanyahu.

His stated programme, however, indicates that he intends to use the Israel visit to engage Christian leaders and prayer groups from several countries while presenting his concerns about insecurity and attacks in Nigeria.
