Former United States President Joe Biden is facing a fresh health challenge as his son, Hunter Biden, revealed that the cancer affecting the former president has spread to his bones and other parts of his body.
Hunter made the disclosure during an interview with the BBC while discussing his father’s ongoing battle with the disease and the emotional toll it has taken on the family.
According to Hunter, Biden’s condition has become increasingly painful and difficult to watch as the illness progresses.
He said the cancer has moved beyond its original location, describing the development as both painful and debilitating.
“It’s not good, the cancer has spread and further. It’s very painful… very debilitating. Cancer is really hard. It’s really sad to watch,” Hunter said.
Despite the worsening condition, Hunter described his father as the centre of the family, praising him as a devoted father, husband and grandfather.
“My dad is, to this day, the centre of our family. He’s the best father, the best husband, the best grandfather,” he added.
Biden first revealed his cancer diagnosis in May 2025, several months after leaving the White House. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
At the time, the former president said he was responding well to treatment and expressed appreciation to those who had prayed for him and supported him throughout his illness.
Biden had also remained hopeful about his treatment, saying his doctors expected the medication to help control the disease.
The latest disclosure by Hunter, however, has raised fresh concerns about the former president’s health as his family continues to stand by him through what has become a difficult battle with cancer.
