The people of Ndinweze, Abofia Mgbo Autonomous Community have gathered in their large number and honoured their illustrious son, Dr Moses Ekuma with the Chieftancy Title of Ugo Mba ‘1’ of Ndinweze.
The honour was given alongside with his wife, Lolo Perpetual Uzomaka Ekuma.
The hour/Chieftancy Title came as a result of the selfless and humanitarian service which the community has witnessed from Dr Ekuma.
The Traditional Rural Of Abofia Mgbo Autonomous Community, HRH Paul Nwofe who performed the coronation of Dr Moses Ekuma as the ‘Ugo Mba 1 of Ndinweze ,said the Chieftancy title was given to him as a merit and to motivation him to do more humanitarian service to all mankind.
“With this title given to you today as a mark of honor and respect from your people, you will grow from strength to strength for more service to humanity and to the glory of God”. He added.
The event which took place at Ndinweze Primary School in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria was a funfair as different cultural troops were there to display their talents.
The event also started with holy Mass officiated by Reverend Father Livinus Obijiofor.
The Lawmaker representing Izzi West State Constituency, Mr Abiri Godwin Abiri made a cash donation and promised to permanently solve the water problems in that community.
The Chairman, Revenue Appeal Commission, Barrister Augustine Nwankwegu and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Governor’s office, Mr Chukwuemeka Samson Ofoke both thanked Dr Ekuma for being outstanding in the eyes of his people
The Occasion also witnessed the award giving to Mrs Nwite Onele and Friday Nwodom for their Outstanding services in the community
The Chairman planning committee, Engr Ekuma Ifeanyi and the Secretary, Mr Onele James in their address thanked the Governor of the State in his people’s charter of needs’ mantra projects but however appealed that Ultra modern Classrooms block for their primary school, Ultra modern Ndinweze hall should be constructed as well as the drilling of solar-powered water station.
In appreciation, the State Commissioner for health, Dr Moses Ekuma and his wife, on behalf of other award recipients, thanked the people of Ndinweze for making them the outstanding people of the year.
The highlight of the event was the campaign by various political groups to re-elect Governor Francis Nwifuru for second term.
