N10bn Lawsuit Twist: Primate Ayodele Finally Breaks Silence on Kwankwaso Defamation Allegation

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has responded to allegations of defamation levelled against him by former Kano State Governor and NNPP leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The development follows a prophecy made by the cleric weeks ago in which he claimed that Kwankwaso could betray former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, in his future political ambitions.
Reacting to the controversy, Primate Ayodele, through a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, insisted that his comments were never intended to defame or malign the politician.
According to the cleric, the prophecy was solely based on what he described as a divine revelation and had no connection to any personal grievance against Kwankwaso.
“I have never met Senator Kwankwaso, nor have I had any personal issues with him. Therefore, there is absolutely no reason for me to deliberately target or attack him,” Ayodele stated.
He maintained that his prophetic messages are not influenced by personal relationships, sentiments, or political interests, stressing that he only communicates what he receives spiritually.
Ayodele further expressed regret that his message was allegedly misunderstood and misrepresented by individuals with political interests, adding that even Kwankwaso appeared to have interpreted the prophecy as a personal attack.
The cleric noted that the situation could have been avoided if clarification had been sought before accusations and legal threats were made.
While reiterating his respect for the former governor, Ayodele urged public figures mentioned in his prophecies to seek explanations whenever there is confusion about his statements.
He also issued a warning to individuals accused of manipulating or editing his videos for political or personal gain, vowing that appropriate action would be taken against anyone found guilty of distorting his messages.
The latest response comes amid growing tensions between both camps following reports of a proposed N10 billion defamation suit filed by Kwankwaso over the controversial prophecy.
