The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso, PSC(+), mnips, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to securing the electoral process in the state and ensuring a conducive environment for free, fair, peaceful, and credible elections.
The CP made this known during a courtesy visit by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Imo State, Hon. Chukwuemeka Christopher, and members of his management team to the Command Headquarters, Owerri.
During the visit, the REC commended the Imo State Police Command for its support during previous electoral activities and expressed appreciation for the existing partnership between INEC and the Police. He also sought continued collaboration and requested enhanced security coverage around INEC offices and facilities across the state.
In response, CP Bosso assured the REC of the Command’s readiness to provide adequate security for INEC personnel, facilities, and all electoral activities. He further pledged sustained patrols and other proactive measures to safeguard the electoral process.
The CP emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and urged residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies. Reiterating the Nigeria Police Force’s advocacy of “See Something, Say Something,” he called on Imolites to support efforts aimed at ensuring peaceful, secure, and credible elections in Imo State.
