Read details of Tinubu’s meeting with newly appointed Service Chiefs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, held a strategic meeting with the newly appointed Service Chiefs.

This was confirmed on Monday by the Presidency.

According to a statement from them, the discussions centred on strengthening national security and enhancing defence coordination across the armed forces.

National Beam gathered that those in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke; and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye.

The meeting was President Tinubu’s first official engagement with the new military chiefs since their appointment, following the dismissal of their predecessors.

The statement read in part:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday received the newly nominated Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The discussions focused on national security priorities and strategic defence coordination.”

“The meeting marked the president’s first official engagement with the new military leadership team, as discussions focused on national security priorities and strategic defence coordination.”
