The Action People’s Party (APP) candidate for Ehime Mbano, Obowo and Ihitte/Uboma Federal Constituency, Hon. Michael Onyemaechi Njoku, popularly known as Michael Crown, has predicted a sweeping victory for the party in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a media parley at his residence in Owerri, Crown expressed confidence that APP has evolved into a major political force capable of reshaping the state’s political landscape.
According to him, the party’s growing popularity is driven by the performance of its elected representatives, whom he said have demonstrated competence, credibility and people-focused leadership.
“APP is no longer a small political movement. We have become a force in Imo politics, and by 2027, APP will record a landslide victory in Imo State because the people are beginning to see where competence, credibility and true representation lie,” he said.
Crown highlighted the contributions of Hon. Mathew Nwogu, representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, and Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, representing Ideato Federal Constituency, describing their performances in the House of Representatives as key factors boosting public confidence in the party.
He stated that both lawmakers have distinguished themselves through effective representation, strong advocacy and commitment to the welfare of their constituents.
The APP chieftain also praised the growing influence of Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, popularly known as Gburugburu, particularly in Owerri Zone, describing him as a critical figure in the party’s future plans.
“Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi represents hope, vision and transformational leadership. His growing acceptance across Owerri Zone and beyond is a clear indication that Imo people are ready for a new direction,” Crown added.
Taking a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he accused the party of relying on electoral manipulation rather than genuine public support to remain politically relevant.
“The truth is simple: APC has failed to win the trust and confidence of the people through performance. Their survival in elections has largely depended on rigging and manipulation. But 2027 will be different because Imo people are now politically conscious and determined to protect their mandate,” he alleged.
Crown maintained that APP would continue to focus on grassroots mobilisation, strategic engagement and the presentation of credible candidates as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Political observers say his remarks reflect increasing confidence within APP as political activities ahead of the next general elections begin to intensify across Imo State.
