Ahead of the Imo September LGA election, Barr Okey Anukwem has expressed interest to run for the chairmanship position of Ihitte Uboma Local government Council under All progressive Congress APC.
Speaking to newsmen at the APC party secretariat after picking the expression of interest/nomination form, the immediate past Commissioner of special duties, said his interest in running for the position is to change the narrative in grassroot governance. He disclosed that he is most qualified for the position both in age and experience.
The aspirant promised to tackle the issue of insecurity, improve on infrastructure, health care transportation, Education and engage in both youth and women empowerment.
He stated that the recent granting autonomy to the LGA will enable him to prudently manage the resources to deliver the dividends of good governance to the people.
He assured of engaging the youths through talent hunt and empowerment to reduce the spate of insecurity and other social vices.
The commissioner who described himself as a transformational leader said Ihitte Uboma is highly developed and needs a visionary and experience leader to manage its affairs.
The aspirant who was instrumental to the reviving of the Ihitte Uboma college of Education said he is poised to bring more development and progress in the council and urged the people of Ihitte Uboma to support him in the race as he is ready to deliver on his mandate.
