He continued that he is suggesting for the land to be used for the agro complex as it is essential for every local government to venture into massive agriculture for the enhancement of food security in the state.
Ezerioha noted that when this is achieved, that it will bring about sustainable development in the Agriculture sector, create employment for the people of the area, and boost the economy of the LGA and the state at large.
Speaking in favour of the motion, the Chief Whip, Rt. Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri stated that the flour mill is one of the greatest industry Imo has, that has the capacity of employing more than 1000 people.
Lamenting that it has been abandoned, Nwaneri noted that, recovering it and converting it to the Integrated Agro Industrial Complex to produce food is wonderful idea, as it will not just provide food for the LGA, but the entire state.
Adding his voice, Obinna Egu pointed out that there is need for all government property laying fallow to be recovered from land grabbers and be put into proper use to avoid such occurence.
The conversion he said is a welcome idea, which will not only increase the IGR of the state, but also reduce crime in the state, as the youth will be busy working there.
