The Women’s Missionary Union, WMU of Great Commission Baptist Church, Umuanunu Community, Obinze in Owerri West Local Government Area has honored the Correspondent of the IBC in Imo State House of Assembly, Mr Imuche Chukwu with the Award of Distinguished Christian Father.
The Award presentation was part of activities to mark this year’s Mother’s Sunday of the Church.
The President of Women’s Missionary Union, WMU of Great Commission Baptist Church, Umuanunu, Deaconess Ngor Mannah, while presenting the Award, hinted that it was in recognition of Mr. Imuche Chukwu’s fervent commitment, enormous contributions, selfless service and support towards the growth of the Church and community.
Receiving the Award, an excited Imuche Chukwu, accompanied by family members, colleagues, friends and well wishers dedicated the Award to God and his late parents.
He thanked the Women’s Missionary Union for recognizing his sincere commitments and relentless efforts to the things of God and promised to continue to live a life that would always glorify God as well as impact on humanity.
Reflecting on the theme of this year’s Mother’s Sunday ‘Mothers As Home Builders ‘, Mr Chukwu described women as best of Companions, particularly, in distressful moments and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their God given roles in society.
The event attracted notable members of the church and community leaders who lauded the WMU’s initiative in celebrating exemplary Christian virtues.
