The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, High Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, and Prince Eze Madumere on emerging as the party’s senatorial candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Wednesday after the conclusion of the PDP senatorial primaries, the party described the trio as experienced and credible leaders capable of delivering victory for the party in Imo State.
Jones Onyereri, who clinched the ticket for Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone), was praised for his political experience, administrative capacity, and popularity among the electorate. The former two-term member of the House of Representatives also served as the PDP’s deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship election in the state.
For Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe Zone), the PDP commended High Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, describing him as a respected industrialist, real estate mogul, and founding member of the party known for his philanthropy and commitment to youth and women empowerment.
The party also hailed Prince Eze Madumere, candidate for Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone), as a seasoned politician and administrator with vast leadership experience, having previously served as deputy governor of the state.
The PDP said it is confident in the quality and competence of its senatorial candidates, describing them as men of proven integrity and outstanding pedigree.
The party leadership, under the State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Austine Nwachukwu, and National Leader, Dist. Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, expressed optimism that the candidates would lead the party to victory in the 2027 elections.
The PDP further urged its members, supporters, and the people of Imo State to support all PDP candidates in order to achieve what it described as a positive turnaround for the state.
