The All Progressives Congress in Imo State has announced that its presidential direct primary election will hold on Saturday, May 23, 2026, across the 305 wards in the state.
In a statement issued on Friday, the party urged all members to participate in the exercise with their membership cards, in line with the timetable for the 2026 primary elections released by the National Working Committee.
The party said necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a smooth, peaceful and well-coordinated exercise across the state.
The APC further called on members to turn out massively in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, stressing that a large voter turnout would reinforce Imo State’s position as one of the party’s strongest support bases in the country.
According to the statement, Governor Hope Uzodimma, who is also the leader of the party in the state, will serve as the State Collation Officer and Coordinator for the presidential primary election.
The statement was signed by Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, PhD, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, on May 22, 2026.
