2027: Ada Owere Takes Grassroots Campaign To Nekede, Inaugurates Polling Agents Across 54 Units

By Our Correspondent

The race towards the 2027 general elections appears to be gathering momentum as the Ada Owere campaign strengthens its grassroots machinery, with Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area emerging as a strategic battleground.

On Thursday, November 5, 2026, the Ada Owere campaign successfully inaugurated its Polling Agents and Boots on the Ground in Nekede, attracting an impressive turnout and generating considerable enthusiasm among supporters.

The inauguration marks another significant step in the campaign’s efforts to establish a formidable grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking after the event, Ada Owere expressed satisfaction with the commitment and enthusiasm displayed by participants, describing their readiness to work for the mandate as encouraging.

She noted that Nekede occupies a strategic position in the campaign, given its 54 polling units, stressing that no community, ward or polling unit would be neglected in the drive to secure electoral success.

Addressing the newly inaugurated Polling Agents, she charged them to take their responsibilities seriously by remaining vigilant, monitoring voting and counting processes, documenting electoral irregularities and reporting any concerns through appropriate channels.

She also emphasised the importance of the Boots on the Ground, explaining that their responsibilities extend beyond grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement to maintaining a visible presence around their respective polling units on Election Day, after casting their votes.

According to her, their presence would help promote electoral vigilance and protect the integrity of the voting process through lawful, peaceful and coordinated actions.

Ada Owere further warned that the appointments were not ceremonial, insisting that they required commitment, discipline, accountability and loyalty.

She cautioned against abandoning assigned duties, deliberate sabotage or betraying the confidence placed in the campaign team.

“Our objective is clear: leave no polling unit unattended and no lawful vote unprotected,” she declared.

While expressing confidence in the enthusiasm demonstrated at the inauguration, she urged participants to translate their excitement into concrete action, dedication and measurable results.

With Nekede’s 54 polling units now firmly on the campaign’s grassroots radar, the message from Ada Owere was unmistakable: the battle for 2027 will be fought from the grassroots, one polling unit at a time.
