BREAKING: Dele Farotimi granted 50m bail

The Human Rights Lawyer, Dele Farotimi has been granted bail by an Ekiti State Magistrate Court over a defamation case filed by Afe Babalola against him.

The court granted Farotimi bail in the sum of N50 million, with a surety of the same amount.

The case National gathered has been adjourned to 29 January 2025.

This was disclosed on Monday, by the 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, on his X handle.

According to him, “Farotimi was granted N50m bail with a surety in the same amount, who must provide landed property as collateral.

“The case has been adjourned to 29 January 2025 for further proceedings

Farotimi was taken to court by Chief Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, after being arrested by operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command.

Babalola, 95, accused Farotimi of defaming him in a book titled Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
