Francis Osuoha, has distributed 1,000 bags of 25kg rice alongside cash gifts to his constituents in the spirit of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The distribution exercise took place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the lawmaker’s hometown, where beneficiaries turned out in large numbers to receive the items. Even constituents who were not formally invited were accommodated in the gesture, underscoring the lawmaker’s inclusive approach.
The items were shared in an orderly manner, with widows given priority. Six widows from each ward in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area were first attended to before other beneficiaries, including women groups, ward coordinators, party leaders, youth leaders, and members of local security outfits.
Speaking earlier, the newly appointed Director-General of Hon. Osuoha’s political structure in the LGA, Mr. Davis Ogbuji, explained that the gathering was to appreciate widows, the APC women wing, ward and LGA leaders, coordinators, security personnel, party chairmen, women leaders, and youth leaders for their support during the lawmaker’s election.
According to him, the Christmas outreach is an annual tradition through which Hon. Osuoha shares the festive season with his people. He urged constituents to continue supporting the lawmaker, assuring them that he would not disappoint the confidence reposed in him.
Addressing the crowd, Hon. Osuoha described the beneficiaries as his people and reiterated his commitment to improving lives across Ohaji/Egbema, irrespective of political affiliation.
“As your son, I have come again to celebrate Christmas and the New Year with widows, women, ward leaders, coordinators, party officials, security personnel, and youths across Ohaji/Egbema,” he said.
He explained that the outreach was delayed due to logistics challenges, adding that although it could not be held before December 25, the items would still be useful for the New Year celebration. He assured the people that future editions would be expanded to reach more beneficiaries.
The lawmaker also formally introduced Mr. Davis Ogbuji as the Director-General of his political structure in the LGA.
Turning to party matters, Hon. Osuoha charged APC chairmen, women leaders, and youth leaders in the various wards to remain loyal to the All Progressives Congress, which he described as the biggest political party in Nigeria and West Africa.
“It is not about me but about our party,” he said. “Some people feel they have not benefited from the APC government, but many are benefiting silently. We must develop the spirit of patience and contentment. Everyone cannot benefit at the same time.”
He noted that as a legislator, his role is limited to representation, as he does not receive constituency allocations but only salaries and allowances, stressing that despite this, he continues to support and uplift as many people as possible.
Hon. Osuoha commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his developmental strides, describing the administration as one focused on rebuilding the state rather than sharing money. He expressed confidence that party faithful working diligently would be remembered in due course.
He also defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging current economic challenges but describing them as necessary steps towards national recovery.
“Every meaningful development comes with sacrifice. Nations like France and Singapore paid the price for growth. We must be patient and believe that today’s hardship will lead to a better tomorrow,” he said.
The lawmaker cautioned party members against being deceived by emerging political parties, urging them to remain steadfast in APC. He further advised leaders to plan for the future, live within their means, and focus on pleasing God rather than people.
On the forthcoming APC congresses, Hon. Osuoha appealed to party members to maintain their loyalty regardless of outcomes.
In his response, the Ohaji/Egbema APC Local Government Chairman, Mr. Obioma Obasi, commended the lawmaker for his consistent support to constituents and assured him of the party’s continued backing, whether he seeks re-election or not.
