JUST IN: Key Highlights of Gov. Idris’ Meeting With President Tinubu Emerge

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, on Friday met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to discuss the state’s security situation and ongoing development efforts.

 

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, the governor expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu for the swift federal intervention that led to the rescue of the 24 schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, last week.

 

Governor Idris also provided the President with a detailed briefing on the current security challenges in parts of Kebbi State and the measures being taken to protect communities. He outlined key development priorities in agriculture, education and healthcare aimed at achieving long-term growth and stability.

 

Their discussions further focused on strengthening collaboration between state and federal authorities to combat insecurity through improved intelligence sharing, rapid-response operations and more coordinated security strategies.

 

President Tinubu commended Governor Idris for his proactive approach to governance and assured him of sustained federal support to drive development across Kebbi State.

 

The governor was accompanied to the meeting by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
