The Nigerian music industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of fast-rising Afrobeats singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy.
Naija News reports that the street-pop sensation passed away at the age of 22.
News of his death surfaced on Sunday, January 18, 2026, after popular journalist Temilola Sobola shared the heartbreaking update on social media.
“Singer Destiny Boy has passed away. May his soul rest in peace 🕊️,” Sobola wrote.
