Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has given his account of the mid-air altercation with media personality Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, also known as Mr Jollof.
The incident occurred aboard a commercial flight, where VDM said he approached Mr Jollof to address their ongoing dispute. According to him, the confrontation quickly escalated when Mr Jollof allegedly threw the first punch.
VDM claimed he was forced to defend himself and said he was bitten during the scuffle, joking that the bite mark almost damaged his tattoo. Passengers on the flight intervened to separate the duo and restore order.
Sharing his experience online, VDM wrote:
“MR JOLLOF YOU B!T me, your fellow man. Haba. JOLLOF WOULD HAVE KPAI ME IF I DIDN’T DEFEND MYSELF. GOD SAVED ME.”
United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) later confirmed that both men were handed over to airport security. The airline said the handover followed an incident that occurred during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at the Asaba International Airport, Delta State.
VDM and Mr Jollof have been involved in a long-running social media feud, which escalated earlier when VDM accused the comedian’s wife of being involved with internet fraudsters.
