The National Director Unemployed Youth Association of Nigeria, Government and Democratic Matters, Comrade Ugochukwu Sylvester Emeana has called on Nigerian youths to be patient, averring that him and his team have come to ensure that the youths in the country have legal means of making ends meet.
This, he said they will achieve in collaboration with the Federal and State Governments.
Emeana gave the assurance on Monday while interacting with Journalists in the state.
Speaking he stated, “Since our emergence in office from the 14th of May, 2024, we have assisted about 200 persons to get a job in Nigeria.
“This we achieved when we visited the office of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in Abuja, where after our engagement with them, they gave us five slots for each State in the country, and by the grace of God, those people we enlisted have started working.
“So we are still pushing for more by writing to federal parastatals, oil companies to aid us with more opportunities, for we have in Nigeria about 250million unemployed youths which we want to reduce to the nearest minimum.
“We are also about building skill acquisition centers; one in South South, and another in South East, where youths will be trained for free for any skill they wish to learn. It is already existing in Abuja, and by this time next year, we must have began the training sessions.
“In Imo State, through the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, the Governor of the State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, knows about us, and have approved an office for us here in the state, and so we are not leaving any stone unturned in achieving out goals, ‘ Emeana stated’.
He therefore urged the youths to exercise patience, for with the help of the Federal Government, and the Governors, they will ensure that they, the youths are meaningfully engaged.
