As Nigerians all over the world commemorate the solemn occasion of this year’s Democracy Day celebration and reflect on our journey to democratic governance, The Mazi Organisation, TMO, on behalf of our principal, Chima Matthew Amadi, PhD, sends warm felicitations to Imolites both at home and the diaspora.
This occasion no doubt reminds us of the huge sacrifices and efforts of our people, majority of whom lost their lives in the process, some got imprisoned, others on several occasions suffered unparalelled human rights violations. All, for the sake of enthronement of a governance structure that guarantees basic fundamental human rights, and encourages constitutionalism.
As Nigerians celebrate this historic moment in our nationhood, with sober reflection on the ideals that once possessed and dominated the struggle for democratic governance,
The Mazi Organization, TMO, will continue to hail the enduring spirit of democracy, which thrives on government that connects with the genuine aspirations of the people and active participation of citizens in the process because the voices, perspectives, and contributions of Imolites are the foundation of a vibrant and inclusive democratic state.
We must not give up, we must not relent. A new Imo with a decisive and clear-cut developmental roadmap is possible.
We therefore call on the people of Imo State to remain steadfast in advocating good governance, accountability, and transparency because Imo belongs to all of us.
At this moment of democratic stocktaking and deep reflection, we equally urge Imolites to demand quality leadership that truly meets the yearnings and aspirations of our people in the 21st Century Nigeria.
It is on this premise that our principal, strongly believes that Imolites deserve a functioning, safe, secure and economically vibrant state that is built on consistent stakeholders engagement, collaboration, and inclusive governance, hence his unwavering commitment to mobilizing and engaging Imolites to foster governance that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of the people.
It is pertinent to point out that our principal Mazi Chima Mathew Amadi PhD, spent his youthful days fighting for the restoration of democracy and was detained many times by the Nigerian State along with his comrades and also victimized by the university authorities as the then students’ union secretary general in the university of Ibadan, therefore, what he is doing today is driven by his sense of patriotic responsibility to reject tyranny wherever it raises its ugly head and to demand vehemently for good governance.
Indeed, TMO envisions a government that listens, protects the rights of its citizens, and drives meaningful progress for all.
We therefore urge our people to renew their faith in what TMO represents, strengthen unity, and commitment to creating a state that essentially reflects our shared values and aspirations. The Mazi Organization stands firm in its mission to champion democratic principles, people-centered leadership, and sustainable development across Imo State.
