2027 Shocker: Rufai Oseni Raises Eyebrows Over Presidential Candidate’s Missing Primary School Record

Popular Arise Television Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has sparked fresh debate over the educational records of some presidential candidates after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published their nomination documents for the 2027 general election.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Oseni questioned why anyone seeking Nigeria’s highest office would fail to disclose details of their primary school education.

“People that can’t tell you their primary school want to be your president and Nigerians will vote them,” he wrote.

His remark follows INEC’s release of the personal particulars, academic credentials, and other statutory documents submitted by presidential candidates for public scrutiny.

The published documents show that President Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), listed only his Bachelor of Science degree from Chicago State University as his educational qualification. The sections for his primary and secondary school attendance years were filled with “0000.”

However, the nomination forms submitted by Peter Obi, the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) contained educational histories starting from their primary school education.

INEC explained that the publication of the documents marks the beginning of the legally required period for public scrutiny. During this period, any Nigerian who believes a candidate submitted false information in their affidavit may challenge the claims in court, as provided under the Electoral Act.
