“Amid Rising Terror Attacks, Pastor Adeboye Makes a Demand That Could Shake the Security Sector”

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to give Nigeria’s security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to eradicate terrorism and insecurity or step down from office.
Speaking in a video shared on X on Tuesday, Adeboye expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation across the country, insisting that those responsible for safeguarding lives and property must be held accountable for results.
The respected cleric urged the government to take decisive action against terrorists and kidnappers, stressing that security agencies should be given a clear mandate to end the menace within a defined timeframe.
“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, ‘Move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,’” Adeboye stated.
Beyond tackling terrorists, he called for a crackdown on individuals and groups financing or supporting criminal activities, regardless of their social or political influence.
“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists; they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” he added.
Adeboye also recalled advising a former Nigerian president to issue a similar directive to security chiefs in the past. According to him, although the order was given, it was not fully enforced after the deadline expired.
The cleric maintained that Nigeria’s battle against insecurity requires stronger political will, strict enforcement of directives, and unwavering commitment from those entrusted with national security.
