World Cup Dreams Shattered: Three Nations Crash Out of 2026 FIFA World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup has claimed its first major casualties as three countries officially saw their dreams of glory come to a painful end after a series of disappointing results.
Tunisia became the latest nation to be eliminated from the tournament following a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Japan in Monterrey on Sunday. The Carthage Eagles, who were earlier beaten 5-1 by Sweden in their opening Group F match, have now lost both of their group games and remain without a single point.
With only one fixture left and a maximum of three points available, Tunisia can no longer secure qualification to the Round of 32, confirming their early exit from the competition.
Their elimination came shortly after Haiti and Türkiye were also knocked out of the tournament.
In Group C, five-time world champions Brazil comfortably dispatched Haiti 3-0 in Philadelphia, ending the Caribbean nation’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage. Haiti sit bottom of the group with zero points from two matches and a goal difference of minus four.
The Haitians will now face Morocco on June 24 in what has become a mere formality, with qualification already beyond their reach.
Türkiye also suffered heartbreak after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. The loss marked their second consecutive defeat in Group D, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the standings without a point.
Despite having one group match remaining, Türkiye are mathematically unable to progress, bringing their World Cup campaign to a premature end.
As the tournament intensifies, Tunisia, Haiti, and Türkiye become the first three nations to bid farewell to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while the race for a place in the knockout rounds continues for the remaining contenders.
