Arsenal End 22-Year Wait For Premier League Title As Fans, Players Erupt In Celebration

Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City failed to beat AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
Arsenal supporters gathered in large numbers around the Emirates Stadium and across north London to watch City’s clash with Bournemouth, knowing any slip by the defending champions would hand the title to the Gunners.

Only weeks ago, Arsenal captain Declan Rice had warned that the title race was not over following a painful defeat to Manchester City. After Tuesday’s confirmation, Rice shared a celebratory photo with the caption: “It’s done.”
The triumph marks a major milestone for manager Mikel Arteta, who has transformed Arsenal from a rebuilding side into league champions during his seven-year spell in charge.
Arsenal’s last league title came during the famous 2003-04 “Invincibles” campaign, when the club went unbeaten throughout the season.
Fans also reflected on the long wait for another title success, with one supporter writing on BBC Sport: “I’ve got married, had a child, who’s now a teenager, and got divorced, all since Arsenal last won the league.”
Messages of congratulations poured in from across politics and sports following Arsenal’s triumph.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote on X: “22 long years for the Arsenal. But finally, we’re back where we belong. Champions!”
London Mayor Sadiq Khan also congratulated the club, while seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton posted: “Come On You Gunners.”
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised Arsenal after the title was confirmed, saying the club deserved to win the league.
Attention now shifts to Europe, with Arsenal set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final on May 30 as they chase a historic double.
