Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has reacted to the claim that he is planning to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the report as “false, mischievous, and politically motivated.”
Rasheed said there was no discussion or negotiation between Governor Adeleke and former Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola, regarding any move to the ADC.
“Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Osun State APC chairman alleging that Governor Ademola Adeleke is in talks with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” the statement read.
“The report is entirely false. It is a baseless fabrication by the opposition aimed at misleading the public. Governor Adeleke has not held any discussion with Aregbesola about ADC and has no intention of leaving the PDP,” Rasheed emphasized.
He urged members of the public to disregard what he described as “fake news from the pit of hell.”
The clarification comes amid growing political speculations in Osun State following recent realignments among some politicians believed to be sympathetic to Aregbesola’s political group.
