Anoh Gas Processing Plant: Ohaji/Egbema Traditional Rulers, others commend project execution… Speak on it’s relevance

The traditional rulers of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, HRH Eze Emmanuel Assor, for Assa Autonomous Community, HRM Eze Matthew Chiedidiem Nwokoma, for Umuokanne Ancient Kingdom, and Engr. Gideon Ikechukwu, former youth leader in Assa Community have expressed joy over the building and commissioning of the ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) at Assa community in the the LGA.

They stated that it is worth celebrating as it will not just create employment opportunities for the residents of the LGA, but will also bring lots of development in the area.

Speaking, HRH Eze Emmanuel Assor who averred that it is a thing of joy that among every other communities in the country, that his area was being given such ‘rear gift”, commended the Federal Government for ensuring it was completed within few months.

Hear him, “I am elated because this ANOH Gas Processing Plant project will attract employment opportunities for not just my people, but for the people of the state – I have already began taking steps towards this as I have met with the Chairman of NNPCL, Chairman of AGPC, and Managing Director of SEPLAT, who have said they will visit me for us to discuss how they will firstly engage my people in the workforce.

“The project will also enhance the structural development of the LGA, and that of the business community as it will attract investors to access the businesses here, ‘ Eze Emmanuel averred’.

Adding his voice, HRM Eze Matthew Chiedidiem Nwokoma who also reiterated how elated and grateful they are to God to have witnessed the commissioning of the project, noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown that he was not joking when he talked about the issue of empowerment and looking inward towards gas production.

He continued, “For this thing to be completed today within eleven months, is commendable. This will send a signal to those who feel that nothing good can come out of Ohaji/Egbema which they have envisaged as having troublesome indigenes; this project has proven otherwise.

“So I say bravo to the youth of this area, for there are some places it would be they will not allow it by vandalizing the properties for money, seeing the economic situation of the country, but the reverse was the case as they worked tirelessly to see that the project was completed and also protected.

“We assure Mr president of the security of this place, and urge him not to relent in bringing in more development here as we are ever ready for such.

“For inclusion of our youth in the workforce, we will make sure of that as we will keep demanding it until it is done for we have qualified youths here who should firstly partake from it before outsiders. We have achieved the first step of the successful implementation of the project, the employment phase is the next one.

Also Speaking, Engr. Gideon Ikechukwu, former Councillor in Assa Community, and former youth leader, expressed joy over the project, saying that it has placed the community in the limelight of the world.

Ikechukwu further commended the Oil Company, Anoh Gas Processing Company, averring that they are the best so far in the state, when compared to other oil companies.

He disclosed that the company has been engaging their indigenous contractors in the execution of projects, and have affected the lives of their people more than others.

According to him, “There is no company that have done one third of what Anoh Gas Processing Company has done for our community, we have Shell, SEPLAT, Water Smith, Stallion Global operating here. In all, there is none you can measure up with ANOH company which has not even stayed up to six (6) years here.

“This is why our people are friendly with them, and never thought of vandalizing their properties, but instead served as security men to protect the facility”.
