CGTIA graduates 2nd batch of caregivers… Urges them to uphold integrity in discharge of duties

A training institution focused on equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge to excel in caregiving; Caregivers Training and Internship Academy, under the Chairmanship of Bishop Athan Azubuike, has graduated its 2nd batch of students.

This took place on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Rockview Hotel in Owerri, where many dignitaries, Pastors, Alumni of the academy gathered to witness the ceremony.

Addressing the people, the Chairman of the occasion, and Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Chairman, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma who commended the head of the academy for such initiative, said caregiving is a serious business which is thriving not just here in Nigeria but, especially in diaspora.

To the graduates, Nwanguma advised not to joke with the knowledge and certificate they have acquired as it can pave way for them beyond their expectations, citing how someone he knows became established in life because of caregiving job.

Saying that he loves what the academy stands for, further assured of NUJ partnering with them to ensure that they progress in raising more caregivers.

Speaking also, the Chairman of the academy, Bishop Athan Azubuike pointed out that it is his desire to see that people, especially youths are meaningfully engaged to fend for themselves.

He continued that he has seen the relevance of caregiving which is why he decided to begin the training academy, which according to him, does not just train the students but also avails them the opportunity to travel outside the country to practice what they have learnt.

This, and more he said they have been able to achieve for most of their graduates through the partnership they have with many organizations; littlewood Recruitment Services, TIMIPS, Goodwill Nanny Organization, NABA Charity Foundation Alabama USA, among others.

Citing how so persons lost the opportunity they got because of disloyalty, Bishop Athan also advised the graduands to take all the 16 courses they have gone through seriously and ensure they bring in integrity, humility, love and compassion, among other virtues in carrying out their job as care giving, which according to him, is what will make them excel.

The bishop further appreciated all that came to witness the event, the Chairman of the occasion, and NUJ Chairman, the pastors, other dignitaries, including their partners, and supporters for earnestly throwing their weight behind them.

Earlier reading the welcome address on behalf of the management and staff of Caregivers Training and Internship Academy Limited, the Training Instructor 1 and Training Coordinator CGTIAL, Azubuike Maryjane Ngozi who gave a brief history of the academy averred,” This academy was born from a simple but powerful thought—a father’s desire to uplift his children and provide them with meaningful opportunities.

“What began as a personal vision has grown into a foundation that is now uplifting others. From that heartfelt beginning, Caregivers Training and Internship Academy Limited has become a beacon of hope and purpose, training and equipping not less than 80 individuals since its inception.

“This journey has been one of faith, hard work, and impact. And standing here today, seeing the second batch of 2025 ready to step into the world, I can say with confidence that the dream has not only come alive, it is thriving.

“At Caregivers Training and Internship Academy, our mission has always been clear, to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and compassion required to serve humanity through professional caregiving. This batch, like those before it, has shown outstanding dedication, adaptability, and empathy throughout their training and internship period, ‘Maryjane asserted.

She urged the graduates to stay focused, and embraced every challenge that comes their way as they have not only been equipped with techniques and principles of caregiving, but also with values of respect, patience, and dignity.

She further appreciated the staff of the academy for the effort in diligently discharging their duties, and all their partners for their support.
