Imo Assembly passes vote of confidence On Tinubu, Uzodimma, APC

The Imo State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hope Uzodimma, and the All Progressive Congress, APC.

They also endorsed President Tinubu as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027 Presidential Election.

This took place on Tuesday during the House plenary, when the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu moved the motion, and it was seconded by the Minority Leader of the House, Rt. Hon Princewill Ugochukwu Amuchie, after Governor Uzodimma addressed Imo people on the state of the State.

Moving the motion, Iwuanyanwu stated that president Tinubu has done well as he has made notable contributions to infrastructure and social policies that resonates deeply with the people of Imo State.

The President he said, has demonstrated his commitment to fostering national unity and addressing regional disparities by investing in the South East, which according to him, has garnered him substantial goodwill from the populace and their representatives.

Highlighting some of the developmental projects embarked by the present administration led by Governor Uzodimma, the deputy speaker averred that Governor Uzodimma has shown immense capacity in governance and so deserved to be applauded.

The governor since assumption of office, he said has been pivotal in revitalizing the state’s infrastructure, which according to him, is evident in the “ambitious road construction projects that have made significant strides in enhancing connectivity and boosting local economies, health care delivery, quality education, payment of salaries of civil servants, among others”.

Iwuanyanwu further noted that APC as the ruling party is undoubtedly delivering on it’s mandate which he said, has endeared many politicians to join the party.

The deputy speaker on the basis on this and more, called on the members of the House to support for the vote of confidence to be passed on the president, the governor and the party, which was assented to.

Speaking earlier, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe poured encomiums on the Governor saying that his administration has recorded remarkable changes and reforms in Infrastructural development aimed at stabilizing the economy of the State.

He commended him for the presentation of the address which he said is one of the ways any responsible Government would showcase its Programmes, policies and achievements to the people in critical sectors; Health, Security, Education, Economy, among others.

Olemgbe further thanked the Governor for providing them with a conducive environment to carry out their Legislative duties, assuring that the cordial relationship that exists between the Legislature and Executive Arm would continue to thrive.
