Imo Assembly screens, confirms third batch of Commissioner Nominess

Imo Assembly has screened and confirmed another Six Commissioner Nominees submitted by Governor, Hope Uzodimma.

This came through a motion moved by the Majority Leader and Lawmaker representing Owerri West Constituency, Rt. Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi to admit the third batch of the Commissioner Nominees into the Chamber for screening and confirmation.

Speaking during the commencement of the plenary, the Speaker, Mr. Chike Olemgbe had announced at the commencement of their sitting on Wednesday April 17, 2024 that the Legislators had on their executive session considered another list of Commissioner Nominees of the Governor and resolved to present them for screening at the floor of the House.

Those screened and confirmed are: Chief Ernest Ibejiako from Owerri Municipal, Mr. Emeka Mbudem from Nwangele LGA, Chief Ifeanyi Oru from Oru East LGA.

Others are Prof. Johncliff Nwadike from Isu LGA, Dr. Prosper Success Ohayagha from Nwangele LGA and Mr. Chukwuemeka Okoronkwo from Okigwe LGA .

This is now making it a total of 22 commissioner nominees as 4 and 12 nominees were screened and confirmed for the Ist and Second batch respectively.
