The Imo State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ led by its Chairperson, Dr Dorothy Nnaji, JP, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, visited Paddy Obinna’s Art Gallery, and expressed delight over the state of the exhibition center.
In view of that, they therefore supported him in calling on the Imo State Government for effective collaboration towards the advancement of the gallery.
The exhibition center which is located at Umuorji Emekuku in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, is a brain child of Mr Paddy Obinna, an Artist, and a notable Leader from Emekuku in Owerri North LGA.
The art center has many sections that contained ancient artifacts, paintings, remains of animals, among others.


It has its uniqueness as Paddy developed games; Character, Knowledge Moulding game, Mental Arithmetic game, Bible game, among others that are quite educative and enlightening for both adults and children to engage in.

Addressing the women journalists, Paddy who took them round the art library, appreciated them for the visit, averring that the gallery has a collaborative arrangement with the state Ministry of Tourism which was done in 2022.
He described the edifice as an outstanding gallery in the whole of the Southeast as it has the remains of animals that was gotten from the old Nekede Zoo in the state, after it was sold out.
This he said makes it stand out from other galleries that just contains works of people.
Paddy further disclosed that every 13th of March which is his birthday is the gallery open day as declared in collaboration with the State Government.
Being so passionate about art, Paddy pointed out that the gallery is a legacy he wants to leave behind even after his death, not just because of its lucrative nature, but for immense potentials it provides.
He therefore reiterated his delight in partnering with the State Government, and called on them for effective and functional collaboration.
Reacting, The NAWOJ Chairperson, Dr. Nnaji Dorothy, JP, who said the women journalists were elated to have embarked on such visit, applauded Paddy for the tour, asserting that it was quite enlightening and educative.
She further lauded his expertise, of in depth knowledge in art, and passion for the work, urging him to keep it up.

Nnaji expressing satisfaction over what they have envisaged at the gallery, joined Paddy in calling on the State Government not to relent in partnering with him, averring that the growth of the gallery will boost the hospitality sector of the state, as more tourists will be attracted into the state.
