Lanre Arogundade Elected National President of EPCOSA

Renowned media professional and former Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lanre Arogundade, has been elected National President of the Ekiti Parapo College Ido-Ekiti Old Students Association (EPCOSA).

The election took place during the Association’s 2025 Annual General Meeting and Reunion held on Saturday, November 22, at the school hall. Announcing the results, spokesperson of the EPCOSA Electoral Committee, Prof. Oluwatoyin Babatunde, said Arogundade polled 275 votes to defeat his opponent, Prof. Olu Adeleye, who scored 32 votes.

This was disclosed on Tuesday in a Release signed by Public Relations Officer, Ayo Ajiboye and made available to newsmen.

Arogundade succeeds another media expert, Dotun Adekanmbi, who led the Association for four years and oversaw the successful celebration of the school’s 70th anniversary in 2024. The new executive committee will run the affairs of EPCOSA for the 2025–2027 service years.

In his acceptance speech, Arogundade — a veteran journalist, author and Executive Director of the International Press Centre (IPC) — pledged to consolidate on past achievements while steering the Association towards greater development. He said the new leadership would harmonize ideas from members, executive sets and branches to produce a two-year strategic plan for the growth of the College.

“The new Exco comprises individuals with diverse professional backgrounds whose collective expertise will help secure the school environment, upgrade facilities, motivate students and improve staff welfare,” he said, expressing confidence that the team would overcome all challenges with members’ support.
